My name is Janet Cappin and I am a chartered physiotherapist serving Mansfield and North Nottinghamshire, with over three decades of clinical experience across the NHS and private practice – now bringing specialist musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy directly to patients’ homes.
My approach is personal and hands-on: thorough assessment, clear explanation, and a treatment plan built around your goals — whether that’s recovering from surgery, managing a long-standing joint problem, or simply moving more comfortably day to day.
My experience
- First contact practitioner in GP surgeries, assessing and managing common joint, muscle, ligament and tendon problems.
- Specialist shoulder unit experience.
- Worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons, supporting rehabilitation after surgery on the shoulder, knee, hip, spine, foot and ankle.
- Taught musculoskeletal skills to GPs, physiotherapists and nursing staff.

I was experiencing lower back pain for more than a week when Janet visited. She quickly diagnosed the cause of the problem. The treatment I received and the subsequent exercises she set, quickly improved my pain levels and mobility.

I have had problems with my back for years and recently had an accident that made it flare up again. Janet is very professional and treated me in my own home. With a combination of treatment and exercises she set me, my back is now pain free! I can’t thank her enough!

Janet visited me twice at my house for two sessions of physiotherapy. Having a home visit was so much easier than spending time getting to and from a clinic.
I found Janet very professional and very knowledgeable. She listened carefully to the problems I was having. After examining me thoroughly she went through some exercises which have really helped me. The prompt email links she sent me after my appointments have been really very helpful too.
I would highly recommend the service Janet provides.

Janet is an exceptional physiotherapist and I am so glad (and relieved) that I have found her! I have visited several other physiotherapists in the area before and have never been completely satisfied, and always felt like I needed longer appointments than the standard 30 minutes.
I have full confidence in Janet's expertise and knowledge. It's very clear how experienced she is!
